Charges for Equipment Usage
4 Categories of Equipment (Please refer to Table)
- Category 1: Free of charge
- Category 2: HK$180, 360, 720/hour, round-up to the nearest hour
- Category 3: HK$300, 600, 1200/minute, round-up to the nearest hour
- Category 4: Charged by EMU

Internal Users: HKU Students and Staff
External Users: Students and Staff from other Tertiary Institutions
Other Users: Industry, Overseas Institutions and Other Users
Other Charges
- Laboratory materials sold in the Central Fabrication Laboratory
- Material Deposition
- Service charges by CFL Staff (Internal/external job request)
Other Remarks
- For equipment usage, if any user failed to show up to check-in the equipment booked, a penalty will be imposed.
- For equipment damages resulting from negligence, the Central Fabrication Laboratory will charge in full or part for repair costs.
- In the event of any disputes, the Central Fabrication Laboratory reserves the right of final decision.
